  Our morning tour with Juliette and Andrew was an excellent experience. Our guides were warm and friendly, and we spotted over 40 species, with long- and short-billed dowitchers being a highlight. The species count was great, but Juliette’s enthusiasm and knowledge of bird behaviour really added to the tour. We watched as a nuthatch industriously collected fir seeds and hid them in the bark, and observed neat lines of holes in the bark left by sapsuckers. Andrew recorded an eBird list for us, so we could relax and focus on the birds. Thoroughly recommend Island Birding!

  I’m not really a birder so I wasn’t sure how much I’d get into the bird watching part of the kayak tour, but Juliette honestly made it so much fun. She knows a ton about the birds and wildlife and she’s really passionate about it.

She pointed out so many birds that I would’ve totally just paddled right past and never even noticed 😂 It was actually so cool learning about them and seeing them out on the water. Didn’t think I’d get that into bird watching but here we are lol.

This was a fantastic outing with great friends, and we’re still talking about it. I’m thinking about trying out her land tours as I have some company from the UK coming to the valley and I know they will love it.

  I booked a kayak birding tour as a surprise for my wife’s birthday in August 2026 and we had such a fantastic time! Juliette’s passion is communicative, and she shared her extensive knowledge of every birds we encountered along the Campbell River estuary. She has a special skill to spot them and a real talent to tell everything about them. A birding tour with Juliette is a fascinating and refreshing experience, reconnecting us with Nature.   Did a birding tour with Island Birding in late June and it was fantastic. We spotted over 40 bird species in a single outing, which was way more than we expected. Juliette was exceptional, her knowledge of local birds is incredibly deep, and she has a real talent for spotting and identifying species by sight and sound that we would have completely missed on our own. Patient, passionate, and genuinely fun to be with. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Vancouver Island, whether you're a beginner or an experienced birder.
